AMERICAN BEAUTY: Lake of the Ozarks State Park, Missouri

The ride to Lake of the Ozarks State Park on Osage Beach:

Scenic highways twisting through forested mountains led us toward the destination. Around every bend were Barns and front porches lined with “American Pickers” gold. We were surprised by the beauty of Arkansas.

This was the first time we tested our Ford Ranger’s ability to tow 3000 lbs on an extended uphill climb. The old girl did well.

After six hours, we arrived at Osage Beach – rumbling across gravel service roads to the campground registration (there is a more direct way to the entrance, but Google Maps gave us an adventurous arrival).

The camp host gave us some insider information on the best site available. The rates for Lake of the Ozarks State Park range from $15 to $44, depending on amenities and seasonality.

During the days, we hiked the trails and lay in the sun. The town’s Post Office and grocery store were nearby, making mundane tasks easily achieved.

We even managed to wash some laundry!

Please do your homework before publishing these articles. Lake of the Ozarks State Park is South of Osage Beach, not “ON” Osage Beach AND Lake of the Ozarks State Park is in MISSOURI, not Arkansas.

There’s so much not in this “review” and also so much in it that is, simply, wrong, it’s hard to know what compelled someone to publish it…other than click bait.
    Worthless.
I wish I had my 85 seconds back that it took to read this “review” and write this response. Alas, it is gone forever.
