Our westward journey landed us at Peaceful Valley Campground in Le Sueur, Minnesota for four days. The town is located about 70 miles north of I-90 and 60 miles south of Minneapolis. As we pulled in and set up camp, the nature was in full bloom and we immediately felt at home.

Location: Le Sueur, MN

GPS: 44.44591, -93.95405

Price: $32 water/electric ($16 with a Passport America membership – some restrictions apply)

Date/Temp: We camped here in mid-July and the weather ranged from hot & muggy to mild with a breeze. The highs were in the low 90s and the lows were in the upper 50s.

Amenities: The campsite is spit into two sections; seasonal & weekend. The seasonal section offers full hookups with sewer connections (and was about 80% full), the weekend sites have water & electric. We camped in the weekend section and loved it; we were the only campers and had so much space and privacy. Every site has a picnic table and fire pit. There is a old-ish bathhouse in the center of the park, it was kept very clean during our entire stay.

Noise: More than any other campground we’ve visited, Peaceful Valley stays 100% true to its name. Our site was tucked away in a valley and we had complete peace & quiet throughout our stay.

Wifi/Cell: One disadvantage of camping in a valley is struggling to remain connected. Our T-Mobile received between one & two bars of 4G service. We were able to stream with it, but we’d often have to relocate the hotspot to find connection. The campground offers wifi at the office. We uploaded a few videos with it, but it wasn’t much more efficient than our weak 4G. Our AT&T service was unusable.

Grocery/Errands: The two closest towns are Le Sueur and St. Peter. We ran errands in both towns. Le Sueur is only 3 miles away and offered a few gas stations, post office, and grocery store. St. Peter (10 miles away) is slightly larger and has an awesome food co-op with tons of bulk & health specific items.

Dog Friendly: Peaceful Valley is dog friendly and River loved playing in the grassy fields. Many of the seasonal campers had dogs, all which were leashed and picked-up after.

Entertainment: The best entertainment here was enjoying the peaceful and sunny environment. We ventured into St. Peter to visit the farmers market and explore the parks.
