Monte Verde RV Park // Angel Fire, New Mexico

Our northward journey through New Mexico continued as we left Santa Fe in route for The Enchanted Circle. We set up basecamp at Monte Verde RV Park in Angel Fire – it’s located in a beautiful valley just 20 miles from Taos!

Here’s the Breakdown:

Location: Angel Fire, New Mexico

GPS36.4119, -105.2942

Date / Temp: We camped here for a week in early July. The temps were amazing! During the day we enjoyed sunny skies with temps in the 80s and the nights brought cool 40 degree temps – perfect for a good nights sleep.

Amenities: Monte Verde offers full hookup sites with back in and pull through options. The park has trash & recycling receptacles and offers easy-to-access propane fill up. They also have a clean bathroom & shower facility.

Wifi / Cell: Monte Verde RV Park has dang good internet. We streamed Netflix, uploaded YouTube videos and surfed the web without issue – and we did all of this with the RV Park at full capacity! We also received 4G LTE with AT&T and T-Mobile, but many times the RV Park’s wifi had a faster download rate.

Noise: The town of Angel Fire is pretty quiet to begin with… so noise at the park was inherently minimal. We enjoyed the peaceful vibe of the park – it made for many mellow campfire evenings.

Grocery / Errands: The heart of Angel Fire is just a few miles from the park. It has a grocery store, two gas stations, post office and a few local shops with ski & bike gear.

Dog Friendly: The park is dog friendly and offers a scenic dog trail toward the back of the park. There are also numerous National Forest hiking trails nearby that allow dogs.

Entertainment: We really enjoyed exploring The Enchanted Circle. There is so much culture to experience in this area. We took a day to drive the 84 mile trail and also explored Taos multiple times. Angel Fire is also a Ski & Mountain Bike destination!
