Gulpha Gorge Campground at Hot Springs National Park

Hot Springs, Arkansas is one of our favorite stops close to our home base. On this trip we decided to camp inside the National Park at Gulpha Gorge campground. Last summer we stayed at Catherine’s Landing; a luxury RV resort that made our Top 10 RV Parks of 2017!

We saw all size rigs when we were here. I’m sure there’s a size limitation, but it doesn’t seem to be too limiting. ALSO, campfires can only be in the fire pits and not all sites have pits. Our recommendation is buy an Outland Living propane portable fire pit; to date, we’ve never been restricted with it…even during burn bans.

Here’s the Breakdown:

Location: Hot Springs, Arkansas

GPS34.5235, -93.0364

Price: $30/nightly, $15/nightly with senior discount

Date / Temp: We spent five days here in early June. The summer heat was sweltering at times – with highs in the 90s and lots of humidity. It rained briefly one day, but mostly sunny skies during our stay.

Amenities: This campground offers full hookups at each site. There are a few bath houses (without showers) and trash receptacles throughout the grounds. There is also trail access straight from the park. Electric is 50, 30, and 20 amp.

Wifi / Cell: The park offers no wifi, but we received a week signal with AT&T and T-Mobile. Our WeBoost Cell Booster helped increase the signal to allow Netflix streaming.

Noise: The crowd here is mixed; seniors & families. It was never rowdy or loud, but lots of movement in the park during the day.

Grocery / Errands: Errands are easy to complete; shopping in Hot Springs in only a few miles away. We visited the post office and local grocer – the trips didn’t take long and traffic wasn’t an issue.

Dog Friendly: The campground is dog friendly and offers lots of space for walking. Dogs are even allowed on the National Park hiking trails… which is usually unheard of!

Entertainment: We love hiking into town. This trip we soaked in the hot springs, ate an amazing lunch at Kollective and ate our ALL TIME favorite pizza at DeLuca’s. Watch the video below for all the details!

  1. We visited Hot Springs about six weeks ago. We loved it. The city has a very interesting history with regard to organized crime. It was the Las Vegas before there was a Las Vegas.
