Are you looking for the best Myrtle Beach Campgrounds? You’ve come to the right spot! Today we’re sharing the seven best campgrounds in this coastal community.

Whether you’re seeking a winter refuge or a summer beach hot-spot, Myrtle Beach is the perfect family getaway. We’ve always loved beach camping. Located in the center of South Carolina’s Grand Strand, Myrtle Beach has all the best beach vibes.

Let’s get one thing straight – Myrtle Beach knows how to do luxury campgrounds. Many of these facilities offer multiple pools, beach front views and kid-friendly activities.

In addition to price, amenity and location info, each spot has a unique “Myrtle Beach Campgrounds Vibe” score for overall camping experience comparison.

Let’s dive in!

Campgrounds in Myrtle Beach

Campgrounds in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach State Park

Price: $20-$35

Why You’ll Love It:  It’s right on the beach! The location of this state park is great. Not to mention, the price is pretty sweet, too. If you stay during the off-season, you can receive 50% off the campground price, but you must stay for a month.

The sites are a little close together and the park can get noisy. The upside…the sites have full hookups. This isn’t always common at state parks.

What’s the Word: A recent reviewer on Campendium says, “This campground is a fantastic hideaway in an otherwise busy/loud Myrtle Beach Environment. The campground (not the sites) is on the beach, and there are plenty of quaint, easy trails throughout. We paid half price during the off season.”

Myrtle Beach Campgrounds Vibe: 9.2/10 All the best beach vibes – nature & trails abound!

Ocean Lakes Family Campground

Price: $45-$55

Why You’ll Love It: Like the name says, this is a family campground in all the best ways. There’s an awesome water park and pool onsite. If nature activities are more your speed, the park has direct beach access and fishing spots.

The park is always well kept with a focus on cleanliness and landscaping. The sites are level, concrete pads with full hook ups.

If you want a true RV resort experience, give Ocean Lakes a try!

What’s the Word: A recent reviewer on Campground Reviews says, “Spacious sites within walking distance to the beach. Awesome amenities including indoor pool, arcade, mini golf, snack bar and small store. Lots of things to do besides the beach. Great place to bring a family.”

Myrtle Beach Campgrounds Vibe: 8.2/10 Huge resort with tons of amenities!

Lakewood Camping Resort

Price: $50-$100

Why You’ll Love It: Splash pads, pools, a lazy river – need we say more?! Sure, they pack a lot of RVs into this campground, but the atmosphere at Lakewood Camping Resort is ideal for family travel.

Golf cart rentals are one of the most used services. Each evening a parade of carts circle the park.

One more thing, beach access is super close!

What’s the Word: Bebe on Campground Reviews says, “They had every thing you could need for a fun vacation. The service was great. No issues with power/water/sewer. Our AC ran all week with no issues, which was great considering the temps were in the high 90s all week.”

Myrtle Beach Campgrounds Vibe: 7.4/10 Amenities for days, and great family vibes.

Pirateland Family Campground

Price: $80-$100

Why You’ll Love It: Pirateland is one of the most popular campgrounds in America…and for good reason! Surrounded by palm trees and beaches, Pirateland is a great setting for your Myrtle Beach getaway.

The have classic resort amenities like a lazy river, pool and playground. There’s mini golf onsite, as well! You can even grab a pizza or root beer float at the snack bar.

Myrtle Beach Campgrounds Vibe: 7.5/10 Another amazing beach front resort!

Cypress Camping Resort

Price: $40-$70

Why You’ll Love It: Pools! We love that Cypress Camping Resort has multiple pools – especially an adult only pool. While this campground isn’t located on the beach, it does have great waterway access. They even offer boat storage.

We’d bring our foldable kayak and give it a spin at Cypress Camping Resort!

What’s the Word: A recent Campendium reviewer says, “This is a good campground on the Intracoastal Waterway. Check in was a breeze with very friendly and helpful staff. Sites are a little close but not packed together like some of the other Myrtle Beach campgrounds. All sites are level concrete.”

Myrtle Beach Campgrounds Vibe: 6.5/10 Water front with amenities…but, not beach front.

Myrtle Beach Travel Park

Price: $50-$85

Why You’ll Love It: Great views of the Atlantic Ocean right from your RV site. Lots of water activites like; outdoor pools with splash pads, a heated indoor pool, fresh water fishing, and a lazy river. Sporting courts: basketball, volley ball & horseshoes.

This is a must-see RV resort if you’re camping with a family!

What’s the Word: A recent review on Campendium says, “This park is huge, but we LOVED being steps away from the beach. We walked it morning, noon and/or nights. Myrtle Beach Campgrounds Vibe: 8.2/10 Myrtle Beach Travel Park has it all!

Briarcliffe RV Resort

The resort does offer a Passport America “50% off” rate – restrictions apply.

What’s the Word: Tom on Campground Reviews says, “Campground staff are always busy keeping it clean and maintained. Bathrooms and showers are a treat to use. Office staff very friendly and helpful. We are repeat visitors and will visit again.”

  1. Kevin & Linda Deighan says:

Hello! We live just south of Myrtle Beach SC and there are other choices. Huntington Beach State Park is south of Myrtle Beach in Murrells Inlet (our favorite) and if you want off the beach there’s Hideaway RV Resort in Conway located on the Intercoastal Waterway and No. Myrtle Beach RV Resort & Marina (another fav) and finally Carolina Pines in Conway. All are great choices in addition to the above mentioned!
