Myrtle Beach State Park

Price: $20-$35

Why You’ll Love It:  It’s right on the beach! The location of this state park is great. Not to mention, the price is pretty sweet, too. If you stay during the off-season, you can receive 50% off the campground price, but you must stay for a month.

The sites are a little close together and the park can get noisy. The upside…the sites have full hookups. This isn’t always common at state parks.

What’s the Word: A recent reviewer on Campendium says, “This campground is a fantastic hideaway in an otherwise busy/loud Myrtle Beach Environment. The campground (not the sites) is on the beach, and there are plenty of quaint, easy trails throughout. We paid half price during the off season.”

Lakewood Camping Resort

Why You’ll Love It: Pools! We love that Cypress Camping Resort has multiple pools – especially an adult only pool. While this campground isn’t located on the beach, it does have great waterway access. They even offer boat storage.

The neighbors were quiet and friendly and it was a good thing as they are close. Campsite had nice facilities and provided trash bags and trash pick up each day.”

Families can still have a great time here, but expect the amenities to be a little more “high end”.
