HIDDEN GEM: Campground at Tomoka State Park near Daytona Beach

The campground at Tomoka Beach State park is a true hidden gem.

While we love boondocking (also known as free camping), the options we’ve found in Florida have been in remote areas, away from the towns we want to visit.

The state park system in The Sunshine State is a real lifesaver!

Today we’re sharing all the details about Tomoka State Park and it’s awesome campground.

GDoug on Campground Reviews says:

Nice shaded, quiet park with plenty to do. The sites are pretty level, sand based and partly shaded to shaded. They are close together for the most part, but there is foliage between the sites for privacy. The area and bath houses are clean and well maintained.

Just an FYI…all of Florida’s State parks are worth bragging about. I haven’t found one yet to complain about.

  2. Robert and Lin Rieglerr says:

Hey Guys~~~Been following you for some time and see this Florida State Park Review. Sebastian Inlet State Park would be south of Tomoka SP and on the ocean….only problem is that most of Florida SP are now booked a year in advance as most if not all are supported by onsite camp hosts and are clean. Fl residents also play less than the $24.00 you mentioned. We have lived on Amelia Island for the past ten years and have yet to get a spot for friends at Fort Clinch SP less than 6 miles from our “winter” home!!!! Crazy.

If you are heading up the East Coast there are a few SP’s which although “closed” have some site avaibility…….Just have to know where to look. Well try and limit our day to day drive to 375 miles. Really no rush.

We are just under 25 ft. so we manage to “squeeze in” a lot of time.

    Stay safe. Happy Trails. Bob&Lin
