Why Amazon Hires RVers? (And, How You Can Quickly Make $10,000)

Why Amazon Hires RVers? (And, How You Can Quickly Make $10,000)

One of the biggest concerns when going out on the road fulltime is how to make money. Breakdowns, rising gas prices, and RV park fees can easily drain a bank account!

Fortunately, Amazon has a way to make good money quickly, enter Amazon CamperForce.

Amazon realizes that many Americans are full-time RVers looking for seasonal work. They capitalize on that with short contract positions, where the employees are well compensated.

What is Work Camping (Workamping)?

Work Camping is someone combining work & RV camping in trade for a campsite and/or pay.

Traditional work camping tasks involve camp host, housekeeping, maintenance, office help, general labor, harvesting, and groundskeeping.

Typical arrangements include a full hookup RV sites in trade for a specific number of hours worked. An hourly wage, in addition to the RV site, is occasionally included. With Amazon, however, an hourly wage is always included.

Pro Tip: Here’s how four RV families make money by workamping.

What Is Amazon CamperForce?

Amazon CamperForce is for mobile RVers to work seasonal assignments at Amazon facilities during heaving ordering times. They are looking for hard workers who are flexible and have their own RV.

Jobs/Tasks: Are receiving, stowing, shipping and picking.

Pay:  Starts at $15 per hour with an assignment completion bonus of $.50 per regular hour and $1 for overtime hours.

Benefits: Amazon pays up to $550 per month for campground expenses paid directly to the campground (Amazon chooses the RV park, not you). In some places, that could almost pay for your site for the month. Amazon offers medical and prescription coverage available after 90 days. Overtime pay, weekly pay schedule, and a 401(k).

Locations hiring: Various locations are hiring in Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Arizona, and Nevada. You can move locations between assignments if there is availability.

Seasonal jobs: Seasonal assignments begin September 20, 2020, and end by December 23, 2020. The next assignments are scheduled to begin December 27, 2020 and end February 21, 2021.

Amazon is looking to hire several hundred people for the next contract assignments starting in September.

Is Amazon CamperForce right for you?

As an Amazon CamperForce worker, you can earn almost $10,000 working full-time for one contract (about four months). That’s a good amount of money in such a short time. Money doesn’t make the world go round, but it will help pay bills, help buy gifts for people around holiday time, or provide the means to buy that new drone you’ve been eyeing.

There are jobs on both coasts (and in between). When applying, you will choose which location you’d like to work. In the winter, you might decide to work in Arizona. In the summer, perhaps Nevada is a good choice.

Like with many work camping jobs, it’s a great way to get to know other travelers, especially if you are new on the road. Amazon has specific campgrounds it works with for its CamperForce.

You will likely meet other Amazon CamperForce workers in your neighborhood, thus creating an instant connection.
