Fairgrounds RV Park

Why You’ll Love It: Fairgrounds RV Park is a clean and spacious park, located at a former horse racing track at the Yavapai County. It’s pretty much halfway between Prescott and the town of Jerome.
The park is not far from Prescott National Forest, which includes two mountain ranges and offers wide open and picturesque spaces for hunting, fishing, hiking, and bicycling.
What’s The Word: “Safe & clean but no frills,” says a Trip Advisor entry. “It is a very clean park…It has asphalt roads and gravel sites, each with patio and nice privacy wall topped with lattice. Lots of rules.”
Prescott, AZ RV Park Vibe: 7.2/10. Efficiently run but without a lot of extras, with internet access only in certain areas. No shade, but there are small trees throughout the park. More of a reliable “stop along the way” rather than a destination.
White Spar Campground

Miles to Downtown: 2.9 miles
Why You’ll Love It: White Spar is less than three miles south of town, and it’s surrounded by forest. You don’t have to travel far at all to enjoy outdoor activities like boating, fishing, rock climbing, horse riding … well, you get the idea.
With no hook-ups, it might be better suited for tents and pop-ups, but it’s also an opportunity to save a little money. It’s just eight miles from the popular Lynx Lake Recreation Area and four miles from 6,515-feet-high Thumb Butte. Goldwater Lake is just down the road.
What’s The Word: From Google reviews: “The campsites are spread out nicely. You have a good amount of space, it’s not so packed like a KOA.”

What’s The Word: “What a fantastic campground,” says Steven in a Google review. “The sites are incredibly well maintained, spaced out for privacy, and Larry the Host while we were there was really helpful. The Lake is scenic and has a great trail around it.” Another reviewer, Aaron, says it “has the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere but still 5 minutes away from town.”
