The “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is a horror movie first produced in 1974. In the film, five friends head to Sally’s grandfather’s grave to investigate possible vandalism.
On the way, they stop at a now-famous gas station and enjoy a meaty meal before their adventure. Soon enough, they find themselves fighting to survive as they encounter Leatherface.

Was the ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Based on a True Story?
The “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” is loosely related to real-life murderer Ed Gein. There are a few similarities between the movie and Gein, but the film doesn’t recount his life or murders.
Some similarities include the farmhouse and the childhood home of Gein. In the film, Leatherface wears a human face but does so due to a skin disease.
Gein wore the skin of his victims in real life, but it wasn’t due to a skin disease.
This is where the similarities end. Gein didn’t use a chainsaw to murder his victims, and the movie is loosely based on the events surrounding Gein.
The film’s directors have taken some artistic liberties to create an even more scary movie than real life.

After seeing the movie, Roy Rose became obsessed. He reached out several times, inquiring about buying the site. Finally, on his birthday, the prior owner offered to sell. Lisa and Roy Rose purchased the property in 2014 and spent two years bringing it back to its former glory.
You can now purchase fan merchandise, eat some great BBQ, and even stay the night here. There are four cabins available for overnight guests. Recently, they’ve added tent sites as well.

Fans will be happy to hear that, human flesh is, of course, not on the menu. Instead, you can enjoy a delicious BBQ. You’ll have a hard time choosing between the brisket or the sausage. If you’re feeling exceptionally hungry, you may want to go with a brisket plate, which comes with a side.

Stay on Site: Rent a Cabin
If a pit stop isn’t quite long enough, you can rent a cabin and really immerse yourself in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There are four cabins available, but if you want to stay, you’ll want to book far in advance as they do fill up.
They can accommodate three adults or two adults and two children. The property is family-friendly. The cabins don’t have showers or restrooms, but there’s access to a joint bathroom via a code.
