About Westport RV Park
Wages Creek travels to the Pacific Ocean through this small campground. Because of its unique location, Westport RV Park offers beachside camping in the sand for both RVs and tents, as well as grassy creekside camping.
It’s about 20 minutes south of Rockport, Calif., and about 30 minutes north of Fort Bragg.
Types of Campsites
All tent sites come equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. Some are available on the beach, while others are creekside. The RV sites are premium full hookups, full hookups, and no hookups. The premium spots sit oceanfront or creekside. If you’re dry camping, you can’t use a generator.
If you’re looking for cabin or cottage rentals, Westport Beach RV Park offers those too. There’s a two-night minimum stay. Although not considered modern, the cottages are more updated than the rustic cabins. Depending on what kind of stay you’re looking for, you can have a white picket fence yard and a fully furnished seaside cottage that sleeps six or a smaller, cozy log cabin that sleeps four. You do need to bring your own bedding if staying in a log cabin.
Amenities
On the property, you’ll find coin-operated showers for guests staying in tents or families who might want to clean up after a day on the beach. There’s a convenience store, playground, volleyball court, horseshoes, and private beach access.
For those coming to fish, there’s a cleaning station. Limited Wi-Fi is available throughout the park. If you’re coming to stay at Westport RV Park & Campground and need to take some video calls for work, you probably will want to plan on venturing to a public location with Wi-Fi.
Pricing
The most expensive option is a cottage rental for $220 per night. A log cabin rental is $120 per night. Both of these rentals include stays for four people. The campsites vary from $75 per night for a premium full hookup site to $65 per night for a standard full hookup site to $49 per night for a no hookup site. Beach tent sites are also $49 per night. Winter rates for tent camping go down to $30 per night. All of these campsite rentals are for two people.
There are group sites available for 20 people. This area is $230 per night and allows up to eight vehicles. Day use passes for visitors not staying at the campground are $10 per person or $5 per child age 5-17. If you bring your pet, there’s an additional charge of $2 per night per pet. Extra vehicles are $10 per night. There are also additional fees for extra adults and children. It’s $10 per adult and $5 per child, ages 5-17.
Is Westport RV Park a Good Campground?
The area is perfect for hiking, kayaking, fishing, and enjoying many outdoor activities. Mendocino County also offers delicious dining options like The Peg House, The Bewildered Pig, and Noyo Fish Company. But there are some campgrounds in the area that don’t charge more for children or pets. If it’s just you or you and your spouse, Westport Beach RV Park & Campground is a great option to enjoy private beach access and beautiful Pacific Ocean views.

On Google, Westport Beach RV Park has more than 500 reviews and a 4.4-star rating. Many guests talk about how peaceful the area is. One traveler wrote, “Love being here each time we have come. Great facilities! Always helpful and friendly service. The little store on site has just about everything needed if something was forgotten. Love being so close to the ocean. The beach is vast. It is great being here.”
However, another reviewer had a different experience: “Campground was close to [the] beach but not beachfront as they advertise. We couldn’t even see [the] beach from our site. RV site hookups not in convenient places for all RVs as they were not pull-thru sites.” This reviewer also says the picnic tables were falling apart, the Wi-Fi was “useless,” and they’d expected better and won’t return.
