Pulling into Flying Flags RV Resort in Buellton, California, we knew we’d found a sweet spot. Nestled in the heart of wine country, this place is more than just a stopover—it’s a mini vacation. Right from the start, we were greeted by a laid-back vibe that made us feel like we’d hit the jackpot.
The resort’s mix of comfy amenities and outdoor charm had us feeling at home, but with way better views. With the hills rolling in the distance and local vineyards just a short drive away, it felt like we had the best of California at our doorstep.
The location couldn’t be more ideal. Flying Flags is tucked away in Buellton, just minutes from the Danish-inspired town of Solvang and a quick drive to the Santa Ynez Valley’s famous wineries. Whether you’re in the mood for a wine tasting adventure or just want to stroll through charming local shops, everything is right at your fingertips.
As for the price, it’s reasonable considering the amenities—expect to pay anywhere from $80 to $130 a night, depending on the season and site type. It’s a bit more than your average RV park, but for the location and experience, it’s worth every penny.
Here’s our Personal Experience at Flying Flags RV Resort
Location: Buellton, California
GPS: 34.6111, -120.1934
Date / Temp: We camped here for a week in late November. The highs were in the 70s, and lows were in the 40s. The weather was very comfortable!
Amenities: This resort offers the BEST amenities we’ve ever seen at an RV Resort. There are multiple pools & hot tubs with plentiful poolside seating. We also enjoyed the dog park, soccer field, basketball court and fitness room. The laundry facility is very modern, offering credit card payment along with the coin operated function.
All the amenities are thoughtfully placed and crafted with quality.
Wifi / Cell: We received a good signal with AT&T and T-Mobile (using our WeBoost Cell Booster). The speeds were only OK. Thankfully the resort had free internet that was fast enough for streaming.
Noise: The spaces are situated pretty close to each other, but we never noticed them being overly loud or noisy. This is a family-friendly park, so daytime activities are common, but nighttime noise was never an issue.
Grocery / Errands: Many gas stations & stores are within a two-mile radius. And, within 20 miles, you can find many big box stores.
Dog Friendly: The resort is dog-friendly. There is a large, fenced-in dog park and doggy waste station throughout the grounds.
Entertainment: We enjoyed relaxing in the hot tubs! But, after that, a vineyard trip to Los Olivos was super fun. We also liked the nearby town of Solvang – known for its Danish influences and wine tasting.
