Let’s dive in!

Cocktail time at a rooftop bar in Orlando

Check Out the Fun Orlando Rooftop Bar Scene

You might think of this Central Florida city as the amusement park capital of the world. After all, it offers endless options for thrills and excitement. But when you need to come down from the adrenaline rush, Orlando has plenty of rooftop bars to kick back and soak up the sights.

Unlike other major destinations like Las Vegas or NYC, you probably won’t suffer from vertigo when you visit these spots. Rather than hovering 60 stories above the streets, most buildings here are only a few levels up. So, while your views may be relatively limited, you won’t get a lump in your throat when you look down.

Depending on your venue of choice, you might see the city lights twinkling in the reflections of several lakes throughout town. You can enjoy a balmy breeze, sip a refreshing cocktail, and snack on some of the tastiest food around.

You’ll find many options in The City Beautiful, so we’ll help narrow your list. Here are five top picks for the best rooftop bars in Orlando.

Need a place to stay? 7 Best RV Parks in Orlando, Florida

#1 Bar 17 Bistro

If you and the family plan to hit Universal, you’ll want to make a pit stop at Bar 17 Bistro. This casually upscale venue sits on the park’s property atop the Aventura Hotel. You’ll have spectacular views of Volcano Bay, Islands of Adventure, and Universal Studios.

Their menu features global-fusion flavors, such as steamed bao buns, sliders, and salads. They have a dynamite drink list, too. Fresh fruits and herbs adorn nearly every option. But there’s also an extensive range of beer and wine if you’re feeling a little less adventurous.

Although technically a bar, it’s also kid-friendly, so you won’t have to find a babysitter. We can’t help but think this spot is the best of both worlds.

Coolest Feature

The best thing about this rooftop bar is its proximity to all the fun at Universal Orlando. This sprawling property is one of the city’s biggest attractions.

The Aventura Hotel lies just outside the massive waterpark. Even if you don’t feel like making a splash, you can watch all the fun from 17 stories up. It’s also the perfect way to wind down after a long day of fun in the sun.

And, of course, if you book a room at the Aventura, you’ll get special perks like early admission to some of their attractions.

#2 AC Sky Bar

You’ll find one of the trendiest rooftop bars in downtown Orlando. Located on top of the AC Hotel by Marriott, the AC Sky Bar features 360-degree city views and a high-end feel.

Their signature drink menu includes staples like a Blueberry Kentucky Mule and Smoked Manhattan. However, the seasonal beverage list has unique offerings, such as a Lavender Drop and a Spicy Melon Rita.

And you won’t go hungry while you’re here. The food is mainly Spanish-inspired tapas, so you can sample various flavors. More basic bites like burgers and wings are also available.

Be aware that they have a dress code, so don’t show up in board shorts and beachwear.

Coolest Feature

AC Sky Bar offers a fantastic brunch menu on the weekends. Nosh on pepper-smoked salmon, chicken and waffles, or a caprese panini while you sip mimosas in the clouds.

They occasionally host themed events like drag brunch with a prix-fixe menu and wine tastings with live jazz music. You’ll want to make a reservation for these dates because they book up quickly.

#3 Hanson’s Shoe Repair

Step back in time on a rooftop bar in Orlando’s oldest structure. This 1920s-inspired speakeasy is in the Hanson Building above Bauhaus Bar. In prohibition-era fashion, you’ll need a password to get in. Fortunately, they post it to their Twitter page daily, or you can simply call and ask.

Another thing that sets this establishment apart from its peers is that they adhere to a strict “No Vodka” policy, opting for whiskey, bourbon, and rum-based concoctions instead. But their cocktail list is one of the highest-rated in the city, so you won’t miss it.

On any given night, you might catch live music or a movie screening on the outdoor balcony.

Coolest Feature

The exclusive ambiance at Hanson’s keeps folks coming back time and again. Their cozy lounge, outdoor terrace, and moody lighting might make you forget it’s the 21st century.

Hanson’s Shoe Repair has a bit of a cult following, with staff who often know precisely what their regulars want to drink as soon as they sidle up to the bar. You might become one yourself when you give it a try.

#4 High Tide

On the other end of the spectrum from Hanson’s is Orlando’s largest rooftop bar, High Tide. This tropical paradise features beachy beverages and colorful decor. It’ll transport you to the coast, even in this landlocked city. The third-floor deck overlooks historic Church Street, including a few nearby monuments.

The tiki-inspired drink list includes island favorites like a Rum Runner and a Love Potion Margarita. Order a Shark Bite for a sweet sipper in a shark-shaped mug that looks like it came right off the cover of Jaws.

If you’re worried that a beach-themed establishment might not keep your interest, don’t worry. Chillers and Cahoots Video Game Bar are also in the building to keep you entertained.

Coolest Feature

High Tide is a nonstop party, amassing quite a crowd on the weekends. And their weekly specials might be their greatest asset. Depending on which night you visit, you might get half-off signature cocktails, 3-4-1 Happy Hour, or discounts on your favorite shots.

On Saturdays, they have a rooftop party under the stars. And on Sinful Sundays, you can enjoy a burlesque show while sipping an ice-cold slushy bucket.

#5 Aero Rooftop Bar and Lounge

You’ll want to check out Aero for a nightclub feel under the stars. This is one of Orlando’s most popular rooftop bars. Laser light shows, live DJs, and a dance floor make this the ultimate spot to party. It’s the place to see and be seen for folks in the nightlife scene.

Enjoy deluxe treatment on Cabana Night when you can book your own private corner of the venue. You’re sure to impress drinking buddies by buying a bottle, which will also reserve your table.

Coolest Feature

While you could potentially spend your rent on a night out at Aero, they’re famous for being one of the best deals in town. They offer deep discounts just about every day.

Half-off shots are commonplace, and they regularly drop the cover charge for special events. On Ladies Night, women drink free until midnight. And on Friday the 13th, you can get top-shelf libations for a steal.
