2. Experience Kansas City Barbeque.
No trip to Kansas City is complete without trying some of its famous barbeque. One of the only places in the world known for its specific barbeque style, Kansas City has over 100 spots to indulge.
Each style of barbeque is unique, with a variety of smoked meats. Not to be missed are: Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que, Gates Bar-B-Q, and Arthur Bryant’s.

3. Kansas City Jazz
Kansas City has a deep jazz tradition, which came into its own in the 1920s as the music became more focused and gained popularity. The American Jazz Museum at 18th and Vine is a great place to start.

4. Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art:
The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is known for its massive art collection from almost every continent and culture. It is exceptionally well known for its Southeast Asian art collection.
The building itself is remarkable and boasts the well-known Shuttlecock installations on its lawn. Admission is free, so going somewhere a little more cultural without paying a fee is nice.

5. The Plaza (Country Club Plaza)
The Plaza (Country Club Plaza) is an outdoor shopping district that you don’t just see. You essentially feel, smell, hear, and most certainly taste it.
It’s amazing. And while slightly too neatly maintained for some, its overall vibrancy is hard to dislike and not be drawn towards. The evening during the December lighting ceremony was -how can I best put this- lovely.
The walkways throughout are populated by some quite fantastic flamenco-style structures and statues. The stores are high-end: Tiffany’s, Gucci, Harolds (which hosts cool damn events) etc.
There are seemingly a million restaurants. Several bars. Again, highly recommend. If you want to shop outside shopping, hit up 47th Street with true vintage clothing stores.6. Explore Union Station and Science City Union Station
Union Station and Science City Union Station is a beautiful piece of history with a little something for everybody. Inside, Union Station houses wonderful attractions such as Science City, national traveling exhibits, the Regnier Extreme Screen Theatre, planetarium, and much more!
Union Station was a railway that has been recently renovated and is definitely worth seeing.
7. Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden
One attraction that can give anyone a sense of ease is the Ewing and Muriel Kauffman Memorial Garden. With beautiful flowers, nice walking paths, and water fountains, this well-kept garden is a great place to calm down and unwind.
Visit the garden to just take a break and not think about anything in the busy world.
