If there’s one thing we’ve learned on the road, it’s that every journey opens up new possibilities. That’s why we’re excited to share a big step in our story: our new Mercedes Benz Sprinter Van.
We bought it in 2023 with the dream of transforming it into the ultimate “Content Creation Van.” We wanted a single vehicle that could take us across America, help us capture incredible video content, store our music equipment, and, of course, give us a cozy place to rest our heads at night.
At first, this Sprinter was just a standard passenger van—capable of seating 12 people in rows of seats. We tried removing a row to make space for cameras, musical gear, and everything else we haul around. While that helped, it still didn’t feel quite right. We quickly realized we needed a more complete setup: a comfortable spot to edit and produce our videos on the road, a place where we could sleep on longer trips, and enough storage for all the gear we need to keep the Drivin’ and Vibin’ dream alive.
That’s when we decided to fully transform it into a hybrid Sprinter Van—one that could still seat five passengers, but also offer a bed, bathroom access, and the equipment storage we need for our live music events. The first big step was taking out two entire rows of seats. In their place, we installed an RV sofa that folds out into a bed, giving us a cozy spot to rest after a full day of filming or performing.
Then, to address one of our biggest road trip worries, we added a Boxio composting toilet. Now we’re not at the mercy of gas station bathrooms or random rest stops, which is a pretty huge win in our book!
Next, we turned our attention to comfort and privacy. We lined the windows with Reflectix to keep the van better insulated against the weather and to block out any curious glances when we’re sleeping overnight in a parking lot or boondocking in the wild. We also created a partition that separates the driver seats from the rear living area. This helps keep the cockpit free of clutter and gives the back area more of that “living room” vibe we need when we’re editing videos or relaxing.
But the most exciting part of this journey hasn’t even happened yet. We’re heading out to the desert, straight to Quartzsite, Arizona—famous for its massive RV show and epic boondocking spots. This is where the true transformation will take place.
We’re partnering with Sin City Overland, a team based in Las Vegas, to install a game-changing AC electrical system. They’ll set us up with 540 amp hours of BattleBorn Smart Lithium batteries, which means we’ll finally have all the power we need to run a full-scale production studio on wheels.
Think about it: We’ll be able to charge all our camera gear, keep our computers running for hours of editing, and even power a heater at night when we camp out under the stars. For us, the freedom to create anywhere—whether it’s a secluded boondocking spot, a free camping area near a national forest, or the parking lot of a music festival—is exactly what we’ve been dreaming of.
Plus, these batteries will run a 24/7, six-camera security system that stays online thanks to a Peplink router. That extra layer of safety gives us peace of mind, so we can focus on filming, performing, and exploring.
Traveling as Drivin’ and Vibin’ isn’t just about hitting the road—it’s about sharing the beauty of lesser-known places, diving into the culture of hidden gems, and bringing live music to incredible off-grid locations. With our soon-to-be-fully-upgraded Sprinter Van, we’ll be ready to roll into wide-open desert landscapes, park under towering pine trees at high-altitude campsites, or set up shop in small-town America to put on pop-up music shows. The possibilities feel endless.
We also love the community we’ve built around our travels and music. We’ve met so many amazing people on the road—folks who share our passion for discovering new places, learning about local history, and seeking out the best boondocking spots. We can’t wait to meet even more of you when we’re out and about, sharing the story of how our once-simple passenger van became a high-tech creative studio, comfy sleeping space, and music stage all rolled into one.
The excitement we feel right now is hard to put into words. We’re buzzing with ideas for new videos, live concert streams, and behind-the-scenes content that will show the ins and outs of this big project. We’re also itching to take this newly upgraded rig on adventures that bring us inspiration for fresh articles, social media posts, and maybe even a few spontaneous jam sessions in the most unexpected places.
When we look ahead at the months to come, we can see our van rolling across the highways and byways of this great country, chasing the next sunset, filming new YouTube videos, and setting up for unforgettable live shows. We can see ourselves meeting fellow travelers under desert stars, swapping stories around a campfire, and then waking up in the morning to crank out some editing on our laptops—all without missing a beat.
So here we are, ready to begin this next leg of our travels in the desert oasis of Quartzsite. The famous RV show will be in full swing, and we’ll be working side by side with skilled experts to make our van dreams come true.
