Three Excellent October Music Festivals to Hit

This October, you’ll want to check out as many music festivals as possible to enjoy the sounds of the season. Without further ado, here are three events to put on your itinerary.

#1 Fall for Greenville

Each October, folks in South Carolina gear up for a unique three-day music, food, and beer festival. Fall for Greenville features over 80 bands on six stages, pumping out the jams all weekend. However, just like many other places in the South, this city celebrates excellent food just as much as fun tunes.

Around 50 local restaurants dish out hundreds of tasty bites that showcase the best of the area’s culinary talent. You’ll find regional foods like biscuits and funnel cakes and globe-spanning flavors like Thai, Indian, and Mexican cuisine. You can also learn how to create your own edible masterpiece at a culinary demo.

Additionally, 50+ tap beers from local and international brands will flow throughout the weekend.

Perhaps the best part of this annual event is that entry is completely free! That said, you’ll need to buy Taste Tickets to sample the goods. Each food vendor offers snack-sized samplers, while beer and wine come in full pours.

Best Camping Nearby

Paris Mountain State Park is about 20 minutes north of downtown Greenville. Sites include electrical hookups, picnic tables, and fire rings. Modern restrooms, fresh water, and a dump station are also available on-site. Furthermore, big-rig spots ensure a comfortable experience for all.

You’ll also have access to plenty of outdoor amenities. Fishing, swimming, and boating are popular attractions for folks looking to enjoy the water. Meanwhile, others can hit the volleyball courts and hiking trails to enjoy the scenery.

#2 Mayhem Festival

If you’re ready to rock your face off, you’ll want to jump on tickets for our next October music festival.

In 2015, metalheads mourned the announcement of the final Mayhem Festival. This traveling event, formed by the folks behind the Vans Warped Tour, featured prominent names in hardcore music. Past performers included Korn, Rob Zombie, Slipknot, and Slayer. Motörhead and Avenged Sevenfold also made appearances over the years.

But it appears this music festival is back for at least one October show in 2024. San Bernardino’s Glen Helen Amphitheater will welcome hardcore headbangers for a one-day event in the middle of the month. This marks the first Mayhem Fest in nearly ten years, and fans are stoked!

According to rumors, Mayhem will resume as a touring show in 2025, but that’s currently unconfirmed. The 2024 event includes bands like Bad Omens, Parkway Drive, and Architects.

While we’re unsure about festival locations beyond 2024, we can offer excellent accommodations for folks hitting the San Bernadino show. Anyone looking to camp near the event can book a site at the neighboring Glen Helen Regional Park.

#3 III Points Music Festival

For the most eclectic sonic experience in Miami, you can’t miss the iconic III Points Music Festival. Trip-hop, hip-hop, and experimental artists from across the globe will descend upon the Magic City for two days in October.

Previously, LCD Soundsystem, Skrillex, Grimes, Pussy Riot, and The Strokes have rounded out genre-busting lineups. The 2024 event features headliners like Massive Attack, Toro Y Moi, Parliament Funkadelic with George Clinton, and Miami native Rick Ross.

Altogether, over 60 acts will take the stage during the festival. Local and international talent alike will showcase the best sounds around.

Organizers hope that guests will get a feel for the global music scene in Miami. The Mana Wynwood, a massive event space in the Arts District, serves as the venue. Guests can expect a dynamic experience that fuses visual art, sonic expressions, and the unique cultural highlights of the city.

Larry and Penny Thompson Park Campground is about 30 minutes south of Mana Wynwood. This county park offers full hookups, pull-thru sites, and access to comfort stations and laundry facilities. Many spots are well-shaded and can fit rigs up to 45 feet.
