The Ultimate Airstream Hotel Guide | 2020 Update

With the rise of nomad culture and the growth of AirBnb, it only makes sense that Airstream Hotels are popping up across the USA.

These hotels get you connected to nature and offer unique experiences. Not to mention, the price is usually less than standard hotel prices. We may be biased (currently living and traveling full time in a vintage Airstream), but we think everyone should spend at least one night in these iconic trailers.

Today we’re featuring the five best Airstream hotels in America! In addition to price, amenity and location info, we’ll rank each site with a specific “Airstream Hotel Vibes” to give you an overall sense of the property.

Let’s dive in!

Hotel Luna Mystica

Why You’ll Love It: Vintage Airstreams, local breweries and an unobstructed view of the night sky. Hotel Luna Mystica has all the vibes. Taos is a mysterious place, and this Airstream hotel sets the stage perfectly.

Hotel Luna Mystica offers multiple vintage Airstream trailers. All the trailers have been beautifully restored to maintain the original style.

Additionally, other various vintage campers (Avions, Spartans, Mobile Scout) are available to rent. They even has a vintage trailer hostel – nightly beds available for $30.

The Yogi was very clean and well maintained. What’s The Word: A recent Google reviewer says, “Dozens of Airstream trailers set up in a campground atmosphere but there’s no roughing it there. Large swimming pool, class A modern designed club house with a campy feel that looks like it was designed by a famous architect. It’s only been in operation for about a year now, or less, and if you want to stay there on a weekend or holiday, you better get reservations well in advance.”

BUT it is a really cool place and it is probably that way because they have these strict rules.. it is pretty neat how it is very private and off the grid… you feel like you are really in the middle of nowhere and no one knows where you are… We stayed in the zombie room which was nice and cozy… kind of scary..”

Airstream Hotel Vibes: 9.4/10 One of a kind experience (and can go down a deep rabbit hole reading the Yelp reviews!)

  1. Thanks for this great info, Kyle and Olivia! I also wanted to let you know about another “vintage” campground and this one’s in my home state of Colorado, which I know you love. (o; It’s called Star Lite Campground and it’s in Canon City, CO. I have not yet been there but it looks super “vibey” and fun. I just noticed when I pulled up their website that the owners are now doing 30 day stays or longer only. I called and spoke with the owner, Sylvia, who confirmed that that’s correct, so it obviously wouldn’t be a good fit for everyone. Here’s the link in case you or anyone else is interested. That area of Colorado is super pretty, as is most of our state! (o; Sending big RV love to you, Nora and River from a big fan of yours!
