What Is a Casita Camper?
Casita travel trailers are lightweight single-axle fiberglass travel trailers. These travel trailers are virtually seamless, made out of 2 pieces of molded fiberglass, a top and bottom piece fused in the middle.
Casita travel trailers come in a wide variety of floorplans and options. And, these lightweight trailers can be towed by many vehicles, from mid-size SUVs up.
Let’s take a closer look!
Why Are Casita Travel Trailers So Popular?
Casita travel trailers, along with other fiberglass campers like Scamp, are very popular. These campers certainly hold their value and are highly sought after.
The popularity of these campers is due to their seamless fiberglass construction, low weight, and amenities.
While most RVs are very susceptible to water damage, molded fiberglass trailers are not. There is still the potential for water damage, but the risk is much lower due to the seamless construction.

Casita Travel Trailer Floorplans
Casita travel trailers come in a variety of floorplans. All new Casitas are 17’ in length, but you can find used models in both 16’ and 17’ options. Whether you want bunks or extra seating, you’ll surely find a floorplan that you love! Here are breakdowns of the current Casita floorplans available today.
The Casita Spirit features two separate seating areas, each convertible into a sleeping space. These campers can comfortably sleep 3-5 people. The deluxe version features a bathroom in the front of the trailer, while the standard option features bunks and storage where the bathroom would be.
The Casita Independence floorplan has two permanent twin beds in the rear of the trailer that can be used as seating during the day. With a removable table between the beds, this floorplan can also convert the bed area to a large single bed. The deluxe version has a bathroom up front, while the standard version has bunks and storage in the front.
The Casita Heritage travel trailer is a great option for families on the go. This travel trailer has a double bed in the back that can convert into a seating area during the day. Along the side of the travel trailer are two bunks. Furthermore, the deluxe version has a wet bath in the front of the travel trailer. Bigger families can opt for the standard version, with more bunks and storage up front instead.
The Casita Freedom model is just like the Spirit, but instead of a dinette on the side, there are two swivel seats and a table. The rear bed can also convert to a seating area during the day. Like the other models, the deluxe version features a bathroom up front, while the standard has bunks and storage.
The Casita Liberty has a double bed in the back that can convert to a king-sized bed if desired. Alternatively, you can convert it to a seating area during the day. When used as a double bed, the extra length is used as a seating area. The deluxe has a bathroom up front, while the standard has additional bunks and storage.
Standard vs Deluxe
Each Casita travel trailer floorplan has a standard and deluxe option. The major difference between the standard and deluxe models is specifically the addition of a wet bath, complete with a shower and toilet.
The standard Casita models are more light-weight because they don’t have a black tank on-board. As a result, these trailers are great for campers who’ll be traveling in areas with other facilities.
The deluxe models are great for those who prefer to have their own bathroom on board. In addition, with Casita’s smart design, they make the most use of the space and keep an open, airy feel.
Small Travel Trailer, Huge Possibilities
Casita travel trailers may be small, but the possibilities are huge! These campers have kitchens, plenty of storage, even a closet! And you can purchase them with or without a bathroom.
These compact travel trailers are great for families, couples, or solo travelers who don’t want a huge RV or an expensive tow vehicle. You can take these trailers to the most remote campsites, and rest assured that you have everything you need.
