Camping World To Accept BitCoin for RVs
Camping World made headlines recently by announcing their intention to accept Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for RV sales.
One of the largest and most well-known RV dealers in the U.S., Camping World has partnered with BitPay. As a result, this will allow them to accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, and certain other cryptocurrencies as payment.
Could this be the next big trend in RV sales?
Let’s take a look!
What Is A Cryptocurrency?
As society moves further into the digital age, it’s only a matter of time before digital money becomes widely acceptable. Coinbase describes cryptocurrency as “decentralized digital money designed to be used over the internet.”
In fact, these currencies aren’t issued or controlled by a government or central authority. As a result, it’s possible to transfer funds between people and businesses without dealing with currency exchanges or intermediaries. Nor do they rely on a single country or government economy.
Digital currencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, and Litecoin have become increasingly popular. This type of currency will surely continue to gain momentum as more retailers and service providers begin accepting them.
What Service Provider Is Camping World Using?
As mentioned before, Camping World entered the cryptocurrency realm by partnering with BitPay. Consequently, this partnership will allow Camping World to begin accepting Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other popular forms of cryptocurrencies.
RVers can soon pay for their new RV, vehicle services, or even RVing accessories with their favorite cryptocurrencies. This option will be available for use with in-person orders in addition to online orders from the retailer.
Why Is Camping World Starting To Accept Cryptocurrency?
Camping World is looking to take a digital step forward because cryptocurrency is becoming increasingly popular. The hope is to provide the smoothest and most convenient customer experience and attract a new consumer segment.
Camping World recently announced its goal to develop a paperless, online RV buying experience. This is most likely in response to the recent trend in contactless shopping and purchasing because of the 2020 pandemic. Increasing consumer comfort during major purchases is a great way to increase sales and ensure returning customers.
Which Stores Are Piloting This Launch?
Initially, Camping Worlds in Chicago, Illinois, and Kenosha, Wisconsin, will be the first to accept the new form of currency. You’ll start seeing this becoming common at all Camping World locations and in their eCommerce markets this summer.
Will All Camping World Stores Accept BitCoin?
Camping World has stated that all retail locations across the nation, including their eCommerce platforms, will make the transition. The company hopes to begin the cryptocurrency transition this summer and move towards an online RV buying experience. This will help serve consumers who desire to make purchases from a distance.
Camping World Leading the Way with Bitcoin
It should be no surprise that Camping World, or any business, would want to make purchasing easy for consumers. Cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin continue to gain momentum and are being used in many different market types. Would you consider paying for an RV or other large purchase with cryptocurrencies?
