About the Yellowstone Club

Celebrities choose Yellowstone Club because of the pristine snowfields and no lift lines. However, a former Secret Service officer reportedly leads the club’s privacy and security. That’s certainly a big draw for the rich and famous.

The only skiers allowed in are club members, their families, and their guests. Club members must own property onsite. The club maintains exclusivity by only having 864 households and extremely high membership fees. It costs more than $300,000 to join and over $37,000 in annual dues.

Yellowstone Club has 2,900 skiable acres with 15 chairlifts and over 100 runs. Pioneer Mountain gets more than 300 inches of snowfall each year. Club members also have access to public skiing at Big Sky Resort and Eglise Mountain.

Oh, and let’s not forget the 18-hole golf course designed by Tom Weiskopf, winner of 16 PGA Tour titles.

Real estate developer, record producer, and timber baron, Tim Blixseth, founded the club. However, he made some financial decisions that led to bankruptcy, lawsuits, and time in prison.

The Yellowstone Club filed for bankruptcy in 2008, and a private firm bought it in 2009. As of 2014, it has zero remaining debt and added more than 500 households.

here’s an on-site 18-hole golf course, also designed by Tom Weiskopf. The Gallatin, Yellowstone, and Madison Rivers allow club members fantastic opportunities for fly fishing.

Where Do Most Celebrities Go Skiing?

When celebrities want to ski outside of Montana, they often choose Switzerland. Their favorite ski resorts are Verbier, Zermatt, St Moritz, and Klosters.

With exceptional bars, restaurants, and nightclubs, Verbier is high on celebrities’ ski locations. There are 255 miles of ski runs and 93 ski lifts. One of the biggest attractions for skiers is its highest peak at 11,000 feet.

The ski resort town of Zermatt is famous for having the highest peak, the Matterhorn, at over 13,000 feet. This picturesque alpine village is home to over 224 miles of skiable terrain.

St Moritz is the birthplace of Alpine winter tourism and boasts 300 days of sunshine every year. Oh, and 130 miles of skiable terrain.

Klosters is a classic, discreet, immaculate, and traditional ski town. It was first made famous in the 1950s when the Hollywood elite began frequenting the area. So much so that the place was coined the “Hollywood on the Rocks.”
