How Much Is an Airstream in 2022?

You’ve seen those sleek, silver tubes going down the highway. Airstreams have fascinated travelers for decades. The first factory popped up in California in 1931.

Over the years, Airstreams have changed to fit the needs of travelers, but they remain one of the top-quality manufacturers in the country.

Let’s look at the pricing, new models, and new features coming out in 2022.

Are There Any New Airstream Models Coming Out in 2022?

In 2018, Airstream announced a major expansion in the form of a new facility in Ohio. This 750,000 sq ft facility provides more storage, tools, and space for workers to focus on craftsmanship and quality, two characteristics that define Airstream campers. But Airstreams aren’t cheap. Consumers pay top-dollar for these works of art.

The newest model, the Pottery Barn Special Edition travel trailer, will be released in 2022. This model highlights a partnership between Pottery Barn and Airstream that features Pottery Barn accessories and decor. Modern conveniences create a residential feel in this 28-ft trailer.

Luxury bedding, custom storage solutions, and a timeless stainless steel flat apron sink are just a few of the Pottery Barn additions.

What Upgrades Will Be Available in the 2022 Models?

Airstream has been around for decades, but the company keeps up with the changing needs of travelers. Let’s look at a few upgrades available in the 2022 models that will make traveling more enjoyable for RVers.

QR Codes

Starting in 2022, every travel trailer will include QR code stickers for owners to find information easily. This library of information features videos and other resources within Airstream Academy. These QR codes also connect owners to Airstream experts should they have additional questions.

New travelers can learn how to hitch and travel while seasoned RVers can locate their manuals and parts book from one source.

Standing Desk Options

For working RVers, the new standing desk option provides a good office space. First released in the Flying Cloud 30FB office floorplan, Airstream redesigned the standing desk for the Flying Cloud 25FB and the Flying Cloud 27FB floorplans.

It’s not standard but can replace one of the sections of the couch. Research has shown that sitting for long periods is detrimental to our health. Offering these two standing desk options shows Airstream’s attention to the current culture and working RVers’ needs.

New Interior Colors

Airstream offers four luxurious combinations to choose from when designing your 2022 model. They include Comfort White with Earl Grey Ultraleather, Comfort White with Cafe Latte Ultraleather, Estate Brown with Earl Grey Ultraleather, and Estate Brown with Chamomile Ultraleather.

These new interior colors complement the cabinetry, surfaces, and hardware to create a contemporary look. Wood cabinetry is a popular trend right now, and Airstream has used these warm, hardwood textures throughout the new 2022 Classic model.

Smart Control System Upgrades

The updated interface of the smart control system includes exterior and interior views to easily manage your space. Control the air conditioning unit, the awning, the lighting, the fans, and more with just a swipe and tap on the control panel. It’s also connected to your phone.

Plus, you can monitor the batteries and use the energy tips section to optimize their life.

How Much Do the 2022 Airstream Models Cost?

Depending on the model, you can expect to pay anywhere from $43,100 for a Basecamp model to more than $179,000 for a Classic model.

The new Pottery Barn 2022 model begins at about $157,700. Pricing will increase with add-ons.

How Much Are Older Airstream Models Selling For?

Again, depending on the model and year, older Airstream pricing will vary tremendously. On RV Trader, you can find models ranging from $35,000 to more than $100,000.

A newer Bambi will cost as much as an older Classic just because of the model, so pricing varies. You’re still going to pay more for a used Airstream travel trailer than you will for a used travel trailer by Grand Design, Forest River, Coachmen, or any other brand.

Is Buying a New 2022 Airstream Worth the Cost?

If you can afford the price tag, a new 2022 Airstream might be worth it. With all of the new features, quality design, and excellent customer service, owning an Airstream certainly has its benefits. RVs aren’t particularly well-made. But Airstream has defied the norm for almost 90 years by producing high-quality travel trailers with contemporary designs.

If you’ve been eyeing one of these iconic silver bullets, 2022 may just be your year. The question is which model best fits your needs. Are you interested in the special edition Pottery Barn travel trailer?

Or is your heart set on a Classic? Or maybe you’re looking at tiny travel and want to purchase the Basecamp model. Whatever your heart’s desire is, you can rest easy knowing Airstream takes care of its customers.

The company changes with current travel needs while maintaining quality craftsmanship.
