The first time my wife and I rolled into the French Quarter RV Resort with our 16-foot vintage Fiber Stream, we knew we were in for a different kind of camping experience. Nestled just a short walk from the heart of New Orleans, this place wasn’t about getting lost in nature — it was about diving headfirst into the rhythm and soul of the city.
As we set up our cozy little camper, we could already hear the distant sounds of jazz and the faint hum of nightlife beckoning us from just beyond the park’s gates.
A quick stroll, and we were immersed in the vibrant energy of the French Quarter, soaking in the sights, sounds, and flavors of one of the most unique cities in America.
Here’s Our Personal Experience at French Quarter RV Resort
French Quarter RV Resort Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
French Quarter RV Resort GPS: 29.9618, -90.0731
Date / Temp: We camped here for two days in late October. The weather was amazing – we had highs of 70 degrees and lows in the 50s. The blue skies and light winds made exploring the town by foot very enjoyable.
Amenities: This resort offers standard amenities that we’ve come to expect with the word “Resort” in the title. The French Quarter RV Resort offers a small pool and hot tub located in a vibey courtyard. They have a small fitness room, rec room and 4 private uni-sex bathrooms with showers.
Location, location, location!!!
We’re paying for location when staying here. And, of all the amenities, it’s location is the best! The resort is only 5 blocks from the heart of the French Quarter.
Wifi / Cell: We received a 4G LTE signal with both AT&T (using our WeBoost Cell Booster). The speeds were great. The French Quarter RV Resort has wifi available in the club house, but it doesn’t reach the RV sites.
Noise: The spaces are situated pretty close to each other, and close to the interstate. It’s not a quiet park – but, you’re in the heart of New Orleans….so what do you expect?!
Grocery / Errands: Many gas stations & stores are within a two mile radius. It’s a big city – you can get anything you need.
Dog Friendly: The resort is dog friendly. They have doggy waste bags available throughout the park. Outside the main gate is a grassy city park, great for a short walk.
Entertainment: We enjoyed the culture and energy of the city while camping here. There is so much food, art, music and storytelling in New Orleans. If you’re a first time visitor, you won’t be able to soak it all in the first stay.
Would We Stay at French Quarter RV Resort Again?
So, would we stay at the French Quarter RV Resort again? Absolutely. The convenience of being within walking distance to all the magic New Orleans has to offer, combined with the comfort of having our 16-foot Fiber Stream parked in a well-maintained, secure space, made this spot a win.
Sure, it’s not the traditional camping experience we often chase, but for a city escape where you can trade campfire stories for live jazz and beignets, we’ll take it.
It’s a blend of adventure and urban charm that we’d happily come back to for another round.

Love New Orleans and Frenchman’s Street! For a longer stay, we enjoyed the Bayou Segnette State Park. It’s a 20 minute drive but has free laundry as a bonus!!
